Title: Can't patch SFC2 or OP

Hello everyone. I reinstalled SFC 2 and OP and was unable to patch either of them.
WIth SFC2 I get the message:
Errir: kUnkownError SFC2 Refit will now exit. The transfer has been unsuccessful.
With OP I get a weird German message and error: kConnectionKilled
Also, the OP patch is listed as 2.5.0.0 to vDummyTest. What does that mean? DummyTest? Thanks in advance for any help.

whoa. ther does sound strange.

Where did you get the patch? Try another mirror. (either SFU that's linked in my signature, or www.sfcx.org)

There is only 1 mirror available:
SFC 2: www.sfc2.net/Patches?SFC2Patch2002-2013.exe
OP: meta2.interplay.com/SFCOPPatchTest.exe

Seb.. that patch is 1 year out of date.. current patch available for Empires at war is 2036, not 2013...

several game fixes mave been made that Interplay does not have mirrrored because they lost the Trek Liscense before support was fully finished.... Interplay's patch section is 1 year 3 months out of date for current patch releases for the SFC series games.

Besides this is the Game Develpoers web site.. Taldren made the game.. and as such, thier releases of the patches 2036 for EAW, 2538 for OP, 1.03 for SFC 1, and Beta 1.01 v500 for SFC 3 are the most current patches available for the SFC series games....

EDIT: Oh, so the patch utility will never work again, then (Because Interplay lost their the Trek license)? That's ok I don't mind manually patching. Thanks again for the info.

The patch utilities on the SFC games released by Interplay will not work again.. the one for Activision (SFC 3) should work once an official patch is released for it.. I haven't tested the patch utility in SFC 3 to see if it updates players to Beta version or not...
