To get an avatar under your name, you must know the URL of the image that you want and the image must be online on a server that allows remote hyperlinking.. you can set up the avatar in the button "My Home" where you edit your account.
To post a new thread
go into the Forum that you want to post in, where everyone else's threads are and look just under the blue bar at the top.. there will be a smaller blue Bar that has "Post" in it. Clicking that will allow you to start a new thread.
As for someone making a new Icon for your avatar, I can't help you there, you may want to try the Modelers Forum where the Artists hang out.

Most ISPs provide space for a web site. My ISP CP Internet provides 16 MB with an unlimited account. I suppose I am going to have to actually make use of some of that space myself.

Click on a user name. At the bottom you can "rate this user." So I imagine that the stars are your average rating.

The old ones weren't broken, and worked well. The uncluttered look is especially nice, and if I could *find* a way to toggle on a "classic view" so that it looked exactly the same as the old forums, I'd do it in a heartbeat. And why dump something proven just because the old HD was nearly full? Couldn't a larger HD simply go in in it's place?
The old Taldren model forum was a second home, can't say that I like the new one yet at all.
Can't even give a thumbs down because the emoticon for it is gone as well.
And having to pull down my firewall to post a message is just bad...(and that is what I'm having to do here).
