Title: Rom Campaign Help Please

In the mission to blow the asteroid and plant the sensor jammers:  I never get an option to plant the jammers.  As soon as I blow the asteroid I'm detected regardless of the position of my ship.  Anybody out there got a clue?

Set the explosives then immediately run up the left side of the map hugging the edge (don't go above 1/2 impulse) then blow the asteroid when it says and lets the other ships pass you then turn in toward the base. You don't ctually set the jammers.
