Hey all,
I was wondering if there were any oldtimers left on here that remember me. It occured to me that I never did tell everyone where i went after leaving Taldren.
I a currently working for a company called Wizkids that makes miniature games. They produce Heroclix, Mechwarrior, Mage Knight, Crimson Skies, and Shadow Run. I coordinate all the tournaments and events at conventions for wizkids. If anyone would like to stay in touch please resond to this thread or email me at Jmorris@wizkidsgames.com
If any of you play our games and you attend conventions I hope to see you at a show!

Why you kids have no respect for how tough we had it back then.....I remember when we didnt even have scatterpacks....you just jumped out an airlock and threw warheads at your enemies......and we didnt have no fancy shmancy turbo lifts either....you had to huff your hairy ass up fifty two flights of stairs just to go to the pisser.....our cloaking device was hiding under a damn tarp......*rant rave blahblah*....
*Crim wanders off to the KVFW to slam some more warnog*

I remember you... it doesn't really seem like all that long since you left Taldren.

nice to see ya jinxx! you say minature games.. are you talking board games or the computer type? just curious. great to see ya!
-
Wizkids, I know of them. Most Battletechers are really pissed off at them for 'ruining' the grand Battletech universe with Mechwarrior: Dark Age. Boy, you should see the ranting that goes on at classicbattletech.com and dropshipcommand.
Tremok, who is has his roots in Mechwarrior/Battletech.

now, granted, since I've been away for a year or so myself, I'm prolly not the one to say "welcome back," but ... Crim, if you're going to talk about how tough it was back then, [censored], let's at least remember teh CTD's, the 22-meg patch DL's on dial up, everyone pissing and moaning about balance issues, and the ten months between first and last patches.

Rat Boy, are you crazy? Dark Age is the death blow to BattleTech, I am sorry to see such a promising series blown away because of corporate greed. Back when it was 3025, BattleTech was a great game, no side was good, no side was bad. Even when the Clans were introduced it didnt hurt it as much, the new technology unbalanced the game in some respects, but the premise was still sound. And then WizKids invented a new system, even though the novels still use the old system (its very obvious, that level of detail cannot be obtained with ClickTech), and expected us to swallow it. In a way, I sound like a core SFBer complaining about the changes in SFC3. Honestly though, ive never played SFB, although ive considered buying it several times. (the lack of other players was the main arguement against it) Ah well, theres always Mega Mek

People Really do fall off the Face of the Earth and come back in one piece...

I remember you quite well...
Also remember one of the funniest moments when GE-Nitengale actually got the username of Taldren on the forum (no one had registered it yet
)
Then she became Queen of the Church of Taldren and even made a few indecent proposals (as I recall) to get "her" name back.
Man those were fun times...
Glad to see you are doing well.
Well I think I need to go load up SFC 1 now...

Josh!
Glad to hear you're still in the entertainment business! And still, inexorably, drawn to the virtual black hole that is the SFC forum (like the rest of us).
Take care!
