First of all try updating your hardware drivers...
128MB on a WinXP is not a lot of ram. Maybe the game is locking up because of lack of memory?
Try close the background softwares (such as the one in system tray, and Kill any background process you recognize as not-windows)

My drivers are fully updated n all backround programs are closed i have about 80 megs of ram free before going into game i know thats not the problem the lock up n crash doesn't happen all the time n tends to happen Near the end of a battle or after a ships destroyed witch tends to be the end of the battle

Actually 3dot14 is correct 128mb of system RAM is really not enough for the Windows XP operating system to function properly at full capacity. It has been said that 512mb is the perfect amount of system RAM to run with Windows XP but I know of some people that are running with 384mb and are doing just fine.

for xp u need about 256mb of ram at a min. the higher the better in the end.

Is there an upper limit for RAM in XP, beyond which you are wasting your money?

I use a little utility that maps the ram usage. I've never used more than about 385 or so (that's not exact) with any commercial program. I have a freeby called jv16 powertools that searches for broken shortcuts, dup files, etc... I think that it stores the info that it's gathering in the RAM. Anyway, I've had that Max out my system @ 512 (only once) and force a RAM recovery while running. My guess is that 1gig would handle even that resource monster. I'm by no means an expert though

Man, if Microsoft wouldn't cut support for Win98, I would continue to use that OS (as a matter of fact, I'm using it right now). 98 is great for what I need and it doesn't hog near the resources that XP does.
I'm considering switching over to Linix or even Lindows possibly. At least that way, I got an open souce OS at my disposal and not have to worry about the greedy hands of MS and that dumb@ss Bill Gates.
