i've been dabbling with 3d max for a couple of years now, & it was about F'ing time that i started modelling something. so i've decided to model the "ss conestoga" (wich was briefly seen on a computerscreen in de enterprise episode "terra nova"). anyone wants to take a stab at her, putting her in SFC?
thanx in advance
here she is :

bump yet again

Very cool man!!! Great job!!!
the design is cool too...but if I were you I'd mess with the ship's proportions
like making the hull thinner(not the command section though)
that is unless you are fine with it as it is
Awesome though
-
Is this still around?
-
I can't see the pic. What does it look like ?
-
It looks like the "Conestoga".
I was curious if this person was still around as apparently they have made this model but it was never converted.
-
Cant see it >:(
-
Didn't realize people don't know what the Conestoga is.... ::)
I already know its not available "else where" - so the question is pretty much posed to the original poster or someone else working on it who is familiar with canon ships.
-
Conestoga. A colony ship launched from Earth in 2067 for the planet Terra Nova. The ship arrived in 2076, at which time it was deconstructed to form the basis for the colony. ("Terra Nova" [ENT]).
-
but I wanna see the model :(
-
So no one knows who this Kobosh is?
-
that would be me!!! apparantly i have forgotten about all this. lemme see if i still got it around.
i'll get back to y'all
-
See what a little cage rattling does.... ;)
I have made my own Conestoga for SFC3, its a little "rough" but its alright for being my first model from scratch ever. Now only if I could figure out how to skin it...... ???
-
i started a version of this ship but i kind of lost interest in it but if you all want i can continue and finish it i have the main hull and command area roughed out
-
Yep.... I for one would like to see ya do it..... variety is the spice of life ;)
-
ok cool i will add it to the list of thigs im working on
-
rofl a list eh..... :o
Good luck buddy ;)

3) finish the conestoga
4) spend time with wife

Did you happen to find the model? Even if it isn't finished I wouldn't mind dabbling with what you have done so far. Unfortunately the one I was working on is on another computer on the other side of the state so I cannot work on what I have.
-
yes i still have it but i havent found time to work on it yet ill give it a go tonight and post a few pics tomorrow
-
Look forward to seeing it m8 ;)
-
OK all here is what i have of the Conestoga along with the pic im working from its still a little rough but it is comming along well

Sweet.

-

the mesh is close to the pics but this "enterprised" version looks not as good as those pics of Conestoga which have been out before the Enterprise series

Where can we see pics of that version sir?

this is the only pic i have of her if you have another please post it and i will adjust it or create a second variant

You must be confused. The Conestoga never existed prior the Enterprise series.
-
well i was finally able to get a little more work done on this babyand got the nacelles completed all i ahve to do now is tweak the mesh and add the forward sensor antenas. as she sits she at 6800 poly exactly but i hope to reduce that with some slicing and welding to make it one contiguous mesh
-
Very very nice Wulf...... I like it.... keep us posted ;D
-
Very nice!
The sad thing is, I really can't use it as it was intended in SFC3, as I already have the J-Class as a freighter, which seems to be the only role this could really fill, and at that, you are really only allowed one model/freighter in the loadout.
-
Keep up the great work I hope it gets ported to SFC-OP also. ;D
-
What does the J class look like again ?
It looks like this: http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/schematics/j-class-screen.jpg
-
you have a J-Class for SFC? where can I find it!!!
-
i got this ship about 80% completed now I will have pics to post tomorrow
-
here are a few renders of the conestoga im almost there just have to do the antenna thing on the front and she will be ready for some skin

Major update the Conestoga mesh is complete i finally finished her up this week end she topped out at 6276 polygons (not to shabby) and she is ready for some clothes i have attempted some textures but failed miserably so a am asking for vollunteers.
-
would anyone object to a combat version of the conestoga? i have an idea of canning the atmospheric thrusters and adding a shuttle bay and a weapons pod it would make a pretty good light cruiser
-
Id say run with it dude.... ;D
Who cares... just do as you will.... throw some weapons and a shuttle bay on this beauty and lets she how she looks ;D
With texturing... Im too busy to do it 4 u.... but... 1. you have psp or photoshop? 2. linda learning .com... awsome for mapping tuts 3. practice...
no 3 is the best... just keep at it until it looks good.... if it looks tonk.... (crap) start again... drink more beer/coffe ;D and continue... you will get there dude ;)
-
i know i will eventually get there but i a major artistic inpediment as i dont know the first thing about photoshop how do i even make a straight line LOL i will try some of the tuts out and see what i can learn but till i figure it out *sigh* oh well
