Hi I have not been on the forums for a while i remember seeing WIP's for the Melak but has any left the ship yard yet ?
i have a copy of ST new worlds and have seen the Melak
could any one post a link !

Hey! I hope not!

Don't let it not being hipoly dissuade you from finishing it! I think through the history of the old SFU/Mplayer forums and this one, there have been LOTS of good low polygon models! To even attempt a SFC model means you must be at least a pretty good artist. Give it a go! I think you'll find a warm reception among the loiterers... uh, I mean participants in this forum!

LMAO! No, actually I'm not taunting anyone, LOL.

My comments are meant to be a tongue-in-cheek commentary on the many typical comments of die-hard Trek Ultra canonists who used to frequent the boards whenever any desired canon Federation ship was released or even shown as a WIP.

Heck, I remember the many debates about the first Excelsior's, Constitutions and other favorite FEDERATION ships. Folks would say things to the modellers like, "You know that X detail really is a spectrometer shade [darker/lighter/insert color here] or Y detail is off by 0.3456 micrometers" and things really got heated at times.

I just want model makers to spend more time on adversary ships too!

I just happen to think the Melak, IMHO, is cooler than most adversary ships out there for the TMP era.

No, this is my admittedly poor attempt at satire when I come in to comment on folks Melak. Keep in mind too, that the history of the Melak being brought into SFC is long and storied. Very few people have attempted this ship to begin with, even fewer have released one (mostly due to meshes failing the coversion process or other calamity) and so, far, nobody has put the love and attention to details into this adversary ship folks have in most Federation ships.

My point is there is no point in having a sexy Fed ship if there aren't equally as cool adversaries out there. I wish to thank all the mode makers who have attempted the Melak. I wish to collect them all.
