OK, here's how it looks with aztecing. I think it does make it look better...now if I can just get it all to line up right.

What do you think? Should I try and make it more like a fed saucer, small near the center and larger outside?

Sandman, do you texture with 3D Max? If so just select the sphere shaped hull all as one object, apply the texture with the Materials pannel, then go to the:

Modifiers/ UVW Coordinates/ UVW Map

rollout pannel, and set the Parameters rollout to "Spherical".

that should fix you right up.

What he said, it looks ok but you shouldn't make the contrast so big, all the panels should be green, just different shades, very subtle is the key, but yeah it does look better even with the grey bits, just need to make them green.

V. cool deadmeat, did you ever update those old pre-tos ships for SFCOP? I remember d/ling a few, an Archer, Yorktown, Tanhausser, Pioneer, Torsk and the Rommie Chowder and Clavicle but they were all SFC3 and the hps and dps are different and so I couldn't really use them in SFCII

BTW What's with the glowey engines on that rommie? never liked that on the 2 I got in that pack.

Well, before I saw that Cabbage, I had decided to re-work the textures...now I really need to.

Guess I'm going to have to concentrate on learning texturing for awhile...after I finish my D-2, I'm going to try and improve my texturing skills. I make good meshes, but my texturing is very lacking.

WOW Looks really really really good...inspires me to get off my butt and follow some of these tuts again...unfortunately my computer graphics course keeps me relly busy...next break from class i promise...
